2Toots Train Whistle Grill is a must visit for children who love the magic of trains.
2Toots is located right next to the train tracks in downtown Glen Ellyn at 450 N. Main Street. It’s really easy to find, and it’s prime location next to the tracks makes it an even MORE immersive train experience.
Once you walk through their doors, and down the ramp, your little one will be greeted by a big mechanical horse. For a quarter, your little one can rock back and forth while holding on to the saddle or the reigns. It’s my daughter’s favorite!
Next, you’ll be guided to your seat and you’ll pass quarter candy and toy machines. By this point your littles are going to be requesting trinkets and candy, it’s inevitable. Thankfully, if you forgot your quarters, the staff will gladly make change for you.
There is no bad seat in the restaurant, the counter or the booths. I promise you’ll see the train from any seat in the place.
Once you sit down get a good look at that menu. There are plenty of great items on the menu, but the burgers are a must try!
Here comes the fun part, waiting for your food.
The entire restaurant is covered in train memorabilia. There are small televisions playing episodes of Thomas The Train, the sounds of train whistles from other customers and plenty to look at.
Then, you see it. Your delicious food approaching fast on a train. It stops right in front of you and all of the kiddos shout, “wow!”
Once you’ve finished your meal, it’s time for dessert. Grab a cupcake, malt, brownie or ice cream with sprinkles. Most desserts come with a small plastic train whistle that your toddler will blow into the rest of the time, in the car on the way home and for the next few days until you remember to hide it while they are sleeping.
Make sure to hold onto those train whistles when you get home, you can turn in multiples of them for conductors hats and other 2Toots swag.
