RECALL: 5.7 Million Contigo Children’s Water Bottles

More than 5 million water bottles are being recalled due to a choking hazard.

My daughter has a TON of these, so I’m absolutely going to have to check all of the bottles. These are sold at Target, Walmart, Costco and many other popular retailers.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on the Contigo Water Bottles on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. They have received 149 reports of a spout detaching from the bottle, 18 of those spouts were found in children’s mouths.

Here are the specifics:

  • Name: Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottles
  • The base and cover of the clear silicon spout is black. Only black color spout base and spout cover models are included in this recall
  • Contigo is printed on the rim and along the front near the bottom of the bottle.
  • The water bottle comes in three sizes: 13 ounce, 14 ounce and 20 ounce.
  • The bottles are in four colors: solid color, graphics, stainless steel and stainless steel solid colors.
  • The bottles were sold individually as well as in two-packs and three-packs between April 2018 and June 2019 for $9 and $24.
